Removal (735i & 735iL)
CAUTION:
Strut assembly is under high pressure. When servicing or replacing components, bleed off hydraulic pressure by slowly opening discharge plug on pressure regulator. When servicing is complete, replenish lost oil at power steering reservoir using appropriate fluid.
- Remove rear seat cushion and backrest. Raise and support vehicle. Support trailing control arm. Bleed hydraulic pressure from strut system by opening discharge plug on pressure regulator.
- Clean and disconnect hydraulic fitting at strut assembly. Plug openings to prevent contamination. Remove lower strut assembly nut. Leave bolt in place to support strut. Remove rubber cover in passenger compartment and remove 3 upper strut retaining nuts. Remove electrical connector from top of strut. Remove lower strut bolt and remove strut assembly.
