Wheel Bearing: Removal
- Raise and support front of vehicle. Remove wheel assembly. If left brake caliper is to be removed, unplug brake pad wear indicator. Remove disc brake caliper and secure out of way. Remove hex head screw from rotor. Remove brake rotor and hub cap.
- Unlock collar nut using a chisel and remove nut. On 5-series and 6-series models, remove washer. On all models, use puller to remove hub/wheel bearing assembly. On 3-series models, 735i and 735iL, if bearing inner race remains on stub axle, bend back dust guard (or unscrew on 735i and 735iL) and remove bearing inner race using puller.
