Removal & Installation (1991 300 Series)

1. Before proceeding further, follow the air bag service precautions. Refer to SERVICE PRECAUTIONS  . Disable SRS. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  .
2. Remove glove box compartment and fresh air nozzle/duct. SRS control unit is mounted to top of compartment panel (underside of dash panel). See Fig 1 . Remove Orange control unit retaining screws. Pull out control unit enough to disconnect harness connectors located behind unit.
3. To install, reverse removal procedures. Ensure control unit is mounted with top arrow pointing toward front of vehicle. Activate SRS. Perform system operation check to ensure system is functioning properly. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  .
