Removal & Installation (1988-90 500 Series, 1987-89 700 Series)

  1. Before proceeding further, follow the air bag service precautions. Refer to SERVICE PRECAUTIONS  . Disable SRS. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  .
  2. Remove glove box. Remove 4 SRS control unit retaining screws. Disconnect Orange wiring harness connector from control unit. Remove control unit.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure arrow on top of SRS control unit points toward front of vehicle. Activate SRS. Perform system operation check to ensure system is functioning properly. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  .
