Removal & Installation (1987-88 600 Series)

Before proceeding further, follow the air bag service precautions. Refer to SERVICE PRECAUTIONS . Disable SRS. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
Open glove box, remove strap pins and lower glove box door. Unscrew and remove trim panel. Pull off plug on light. Remove DME control unit. Disconnect SRS control unit plug connectors. Unscrew ground wire connection. Remove 3 screws retaining SRS control unit and bracket. Remove SRS control unit.
To install, reverse removal procedures. Activate SRS. Perform system operation check to ensure system is functioning properly. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
