Contact Ring: Installation
- New contact ring is held in center position with shipping lock screw. DO NOT
remove lock screw until contact ring is attached to steering wheel and spring clip lock is in place. Remove lock screw through opening hole in steering wheel.
- Install contact ring to steering wheel, aligning lock screw with hole in steering wheel and passing wiring through steering wheel opening. Connect spring to clip lock and insert assembly into bore in steering wheel hub. Press clip lock down until it engages.
- On bottom of steering wheel, install circlip ring into large outer hub, aligning studs to openings in circlip ring. Turn circlip ring and pull upward to engage. Install nuts to studs.
- Lube horn slip ring with dielectric grease. Install steering wheel. Install air bag module. Activate SRS. Perform system operation check to ensure system is functioning properly. Refer to SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK
