SRS Warning Light Operation

When ignition is turned on, SRS warning light will illuminate together with other instrument panel lights. If no faults are sensed in SRS, warning light will go out after about 6-10 seconds with engine off, or go out immediately when engine is started. If warning light does not go out and remains on, this indicates a fault in system. When vehicle is moving, SRS control unit informs driver of any faults in SRS by flashing SRS warning light for 5 minutes, then SRS light remains on until fault is repaired. When SRS control unit detects a fault, warning light will remain on until fault is corrected and memory is cleared. If warning light fails to illuminate when ignition is turned on, this indicates bulb is faulty and/or wire circuit to bulb is shorted to ground.
