Removal & Installation (Before 12/90)

On early model vehicles built up to 12/90, hydraulic accumulator, or "bomb", is installed on underside of power flow regulator. See Fig 1 .

1. Remove power flow regulator. See POWER FLOW REGULATOR  .
2. Remove accumulator from regulator by clamping regulator in a soft-jaw vise and threading accumulator off. If the accumulator is difficult to remove, use a strap wrench or large oil filter wrench on the accumulator.
3. Installation is reverse of removal.
4. Run engine and operate brake pedal. Check hydraulic fluid level.
