Removal & Installation (After 12/90)

On later model vehicles built after 12/90, accumulator is installed behind left front foglight.

1. Discharge hydraulic accumulator by pumping brake pedal at least 20 times with engine off.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Remove 2 bolts in left front wheel well retaining alternator fresh air duct, and remove duct.
NOTE: Have shop towel ready to catch any fluid that escapes.
4. Remove 2 accumulator mounting nuts from brackets. Disconnect hydraulic lines from accumulator. Remove accumulator.
5. Installation is reverse of removal procedure. Tighten all fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
6. Start engine and operate brake pedal. Check hydraulic fluid level and fill as necessary.
