Rear Brakes

NOTE: Bleeding procedure will use approximately 3.2 pts. (1.5 L) of brake fluid. Fill brake fluid reservoir frequently to prevent it from emptying during brake bleeding.
  1. Connect bleeder hose and waste bottle to right rear caliper bleeder screw. Open bleeder and pump brake pedal 20 times or until fluid is clean and free of air bubbles.
  2. Place supports underneath the rear axle swinging arms and lower the lifting platform enough that the output shafts are approximately horizontal. This prevents damage to the output shaft joints from excessive deflection. It should be possible to spin rear wheels easily.
  3. Start the engine and engage 1st gear or range 1. Increase and hold engine speed at approximately 3500 RPM.
  4. NOTE: The engine speed must not be higher than 5,000 RPM when switching ASC+T passive key off or on.
  5. Operate the ASC+T passive key about every 2 seconds for a period of at least one minute. This will provide ASC+T regulation.
  6. Stop engine, lift car and tighten bleeder screw to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  7. Repeat all steps on the left rear wheel brake.
