Tachometer / Fuel Economy Control Gauge

Economy control will always display infinite consumption with engine at idle. Display should read close to zero when coasting or engine is off throttle. If display is giving an unrealistic reading ensure the correct coding plug is used.
If there is no display, check that injection signal is present at instrument cluster plug, pin No. 2 (Blue). Check connections for continuity. Change tachometer.
If display needle wanders at idle. Check for electrical interference; disconnect Black wire from cluster connector and separate wire from harness. Run wire on outside of harness and test.
If display needle wanders when headlight switch or turn signal switch is activated it a faulty dimmer relay is activated. Replace dimmer relay. Ensure a Diode Relay (61 31 1 373 154) is used.
