Wheel Bearing: Removal

  1. Raise and support vehicle. Disconnect output shaft at drive flange and suspend out of the way. Remove brake caliper bolts and remove brake caliper. Remove hex head screw and remove rotor.
  2. Remove lock plate. Remove collar nut with Nut Remover (33 4 000). Pull off drive flange. Install collar nut flush with end of shaft and knock shaft out with soft mallet.
  3. Remove snap ring and remove wheel bearing with puller. Remove inner bearing shell from rear axle shaft with puller, if necessary.
