Clutches "E" & "F": Disassembly
- Remove sun, planet and planet carrier. Remove angled washer, axial bearing and thrust washer. Lift clutch housing "F" off of clutch housing "E". See Fig 1.
- Lift off housing "E" on output shell. Take off thrust washer, axial bearing and steel/copper angled washer, keep components in order for reassembly. Remove snap ring out of clutch F housing. Remove clutch "F" plate set. See Fig 2.

- Remove piston for clutch "F". Press down on diaphragm spring with tool (24 2 020), and lift out split retaining ring.
- Press out piston for clutch "F" with 2 mandrels. Remove clutch plates and discs in order for reassembly.
- Remove snap ring from clutch "E" housing and remove clutch plate set. Keep components in order for reassembly. See Fig. 20.
- Remove piston for clutch "E". Press down on diaphragm spring with tool (24 2 020) and remove retaining ring.
- Lift off cover and press clutch "E" piston with compressed air applied through oil bore. Discard "O" rings and seal.
