Centrifugal Governor: Disassembly

  1. Remove transmission extension. Pull off parking lock gear with centrifugal governor. If equipped with bearing race, pull off parking lock gear with a Kukko puller. See Figure.
  2. Detach parking lock gear on centrifugal governor. Take off cover on case and lift out retainer and remove washer. Remove governor piston, spring and governor bushing. Remove spring clip and balance weight.
  3. Clean all parts and check for signs of scoring or other wear. If any components show wear, replace complete governor assembly. See Fig 1.
