Center Bearing: Removal

Remove drive shaft assembly. See DRIVE SHAFT .
Place match marks on front and rear drive shaft sections for reassembly reference. Unscrew clamping sleeve completely and pull two sections of drive shaft assembly apart.
Remove rubber bushing, washer and clamping sleeve from front section of drive shaft. Remove center bearing circlip and dust guard (if applicable). See Fig 1 .

NOTE: Position puller so that it pulls on inner hub of bearing to prevent damage to outer ring of mount. If mount tears upon removal of bearing, replace entire bearing assembly.

Using an appropriate puller, remove bearing from drive shaft.
If replacing bearing, press bearing out of bearing mount.
