Timing Case Cover Oil Seal

  1. Remove lower flywheel cover and install suitable ring gear lock. Remove fan housing and all drive belts. Unscrew crankshaft nut and remove vibration damper with hub. Pry out radial seal.
  2. Pack lips of new radial seal with grease. Press seal in with installing tool (11 1 280). Install components in reverse order of removal and remove lock on flywheel.
