Piston & Rod Assembly
- With cylinder head and oil pan removed, remove connecting rod cap. Push piston and rod assembly up and out through top of engine.
- To install, insert bearing halves in rod and rod cap. Position rings so that ring gaps are approximately 180° apart from each other.
- Compress piston rings and install piston in cylinder with arrow toward front of engine. Push piston into cylinder and make sure bearings are properly seated against crankshaft journal.
- Match numbers on rod and rod cap and install on same side. Tighten nuts to specifications.
