Steering Column Lock And Ignition Switch: Removal
- Disconnect battery ground, then remove steering wheel as previously outlined. Disconnect ignition switch electrical leads. Remove steering column cowling. Remove combined switch control for wipers, headlight dimmer, and directional lights.
- Remove four screws mounting outer steering column to firewall (bulkhead). Pull steering column through firewall. Remove felt bushing from inner steering column. Drill out or otherwise remove shear bolts, then take off clamp plate and steering lock.
