Engine Front Cover & Oil Seal
- Drain cooling system and remove radiator. Loosen generator mounting bolts and remove fan belt. Bend back tab on crankshaft pulley securing bolt and carefully pry pulley and damper assembly from crankshaft.
- Remove bolts holding front cover to engine and carefully remove cover. Using suitable tool (18G-134 and adapter 18-134BD) remove front seal.
- Ensure oil thrower behind crankshaft pulley is fitted with index mark "F" away from engine. Fill groove between lips of oil seal with grease and using suitable tool (18G-1044) centralize oil seal on crankshaft.
NOTE:
On early models only, front cover and oil thrower must be fitted together. When refitting, ensure oil thrower is fitted with its concave side facing away from engine. Use suitable tool (T8G-138) to centralize rubber seal on crankshaft.
