Input Shaft Cap, Replacing: Procedure

AWD Vehicles:

-- Remove the all-wheel drive clutch. Refer to ALL-WHEEL DRIVE CLUTCH, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Continuation for all vehicles

-- Remove the cap. For this purpose, chisel the center of the cover and remove using the Puller - Grease Cap : VW637/2  .

-- Remove the oil catch tray -1- and replace.

-- Install the new oil catch tray.

-- Press in the new end cover -1- with the Press Tool : T40323  and Press Tool : T40323/6  .

Conditions

• The end cover is installed dry. Do not use retaining compound.
• Let the end cover be tensioned 10 minutes with the Press Tool :T40323  .
