Transmission Housing, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Drain the transmission fluid. Refer to Transmission Fluid, Draining and Filling  .

-- Drain the ATF. Refer to ATF, Draining and Filling  .

-- Secure the transmission to the Engine and Transmission Holder : VAS6095A  . Refer to TRANSMISSION, SECURING TO ENGINE/TRANSMISSION HOLDER  .

-- Remove the ATF cooler. Refer to ATF Cooler, Removing and Installing  .

-- Remove the cap for the input shaft. Refer to INPUT SHAFT CAP, REPLACING .

-- Remove the circlip -1-.

-- Remove the bolts -1 through 6-.

Bolts -1 through 5- with centering bushing, bolt -6- does not have a centering bushing

-- Remove the centering bushings -arrow- with the Slide Hammer Set :VW771  .

-- Remove the bolts -1 through 9- for the transmission housing.

-- Remove the transmission housing with the Press Tool : T40323  and the Press Tool - Thrust Piece : T40323/5  .
