Transmission Housing, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:

-- Release the oil distributor input shaft -1- -arrows-.

-- Remove the oil distributor from the input shaft -2- using the T-Handle Hook : 3438  .

-- Position the new seal on the clutch housing and check if both centering pins are installed.

-- Guide the transmission housing with the transmission.

Bring the input shaft into the installation position.

-- Insert the threaded spindle -1- of the Puller : T40436  .

The claws of the Puller :T40436  engage into the input shaft at the same time.

-- Position the sleeve of the Puller : T40436  on the transmission housing and threaded spindle -arrow-.

-- Pull out the input shaft from the transmission housing via the nut -2-. At the same time, counterhold on the hex fitting -arrow - of the threaded spindle.

-- Remove the Puller : T40436  from the transmission.

-- Install the new circlip -1- for the bearing E.

The illustration above shows a different component. Determining the circlip is identical.

-- Determine the thickest (but still usable) circlip and insert it. For the part number, refer to the Electronic Parts Information (ETKA).

-- Insert the new bolts for the transmission housing -1 through 9- and tighten in the tightening sequence.

-- Push in the centering sleeves -A- for the gear set all the way.

-- Tighten the new bolts for the gear set -1 through 6- in the tightening sequence.

-- Install the new oil distributor input shaft.

-- Install the cap for the input. Refer to INPUT SHAFT CAP, REPLACING .

-- Install the ATF cooler. Refer to ATF Cooler, Removing and Installing  .
