MECHATRONIC, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Remove the transmission fluid pan. Refer to Transmission Fluid Pan, Removing and Installing .
Risk of destroying due to electrostatic charge.
- Do not touch the connector terminals.
- Touch a grounded object (for example the hoist) and discharge any static electricity.
-- Disconnect the connector -1- of the Transmission Control Module -J217-. To do this, press the locking mechanism -B- and pull the locking bracket -2- in the -direction of the arrow A-.
-- Remove the protective cap -arrow-.
-- Disconnect the connector using the Assembly Tool :T40305 .
-- Loosen the bolts a half turn in the sequence -1- through -7-.
-- Remove the bolts -2- and -5- and install the Oil Sump Assembly Pin : T40199 .
-- Remove the remaining bolts -1-, -3-, -4-, -6-, -7-.
-- Remove the Mechatronic.
Tip
The Mechatronic fits partially inside the transmission. If the Mechatronic must be removed, then a second technician will be needed to keep it from falling. Alternatively, the bolts -1- and -2- can be installed slightly to hold the Mechatronic in place.
-- Only set the Mechatronic down on a clean surface with the bolt head side facing downward.
-- Seal off the ATF channels with Covers : T40322A -A-.
