Connectors, Disconnecting

Before disconnecting connectors, always make sure that the ignition is switched off and the vehicle registration or other start authorization systems (such as smartphones) are outside of the vehicle interior. This will prevent the vehicle from switching on when unwanted. Moreover, this can lead to unwanted DTC memory entries, which must be deleted after the repair.
Discharge electrostatic electricity immediately before disconnecting a connector by briefly touching the door striker.
Do not touch open contact pins with hands.
When connecting connectors, make sure that the connector lock reengages correctly. Check it by pulling on it briefly.
