1. Guide Pin
   • Replace after removing
   • 5 Nm +45°
2. Guide Rail
3. Gear
   • With the chain sprocket for the camshaft timing chain
4. Camshaft Timing Chain
   • Removing from the camshafts. Refer to CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN, REMOVING FROM CAMSHAFTS .
   • Do not separate from the tensioning rail  ) Tensioning Rail
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
5. Tensioning Rail
   • Do not separate from the camshaft timing chain  ) Camshaft Timing Chain
6. Mounting Pin
   • 23 Nm
7. Bolt
   • 9 Nm
8. Chain Tensioner
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to CHAIN TENSIONER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
9. Seal
   • Replace after removing
10. Control Valve
    • For the camshaft adjuster
    • Tightening Specifications and Sequence. Refer to  ) Have a second technician tension the Electronic Torque Wrench 3-60 Nm :VAS 6583 with insertion adapter Hazet 6423C or Stahlwille 7370/10 with Torque Wrench Insert - Ring Tool Attachment AF41 :VAS 261 001 and Counterholder : T90001 on the intake camshaft adjuster to 26 Nm counter-clockwise -arrow- and hold.
11. O-Ring
    • Replace after removing
12. Camshaft Adjuster
    • For the exhaust camshaft
    • For the allocation, refer to the Electronic Parts Information (ETKA).
    • After removal replace the friction disc (diamond disc)  ) Friction Disc (Diamond Disc)
    • Removing and Installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN, REMOVING FROM CAMSHAFTS .
13. Friction Disc (Diamond Disc)
    • For the connection security between the camshaft adjuster and camshaft end
    • Replace after removing
    • Bring the new friction disc (diamond disc) without kinking into its installation position
14. Camshaft Adjuster
    • For the intake camshaft
    • For the allocation, refer to the Electronic Parts Information (ETKA).
    • After removal replace the friction disc (diamond disc)  ) Friction Disc (Diamond Disc)
    • Removing and Installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN, REMOVING FROM CAMSHAFTS .
15. Friction Disc (Diamond Disc)
    • For the connection security between the camshaft adjuster and camshaft end
    • Replace after removing
    • Bring the new friction disc (diamond disc) without kinking into its installation position
16. O-Ring
    • Replace after removing
17. Control Valve
    • For the camshaft adjuster
    • Tightening Specifications and Sequence. Refer to  ) Have a second technician tension the Electronic Torque Wrench 3-60 Nm :VAS 6583 with insertion adapter Hazet 6423C or Stahlwille 7370/10 with Torque Wrench Insert - Ring Tool Attachment AF41 :VAS 261 001 and Counterholder : T90001 on the intake camshaft adjuster to 26 Nm counter-clockwise -arrow- and hold.

    • Replace after removing

   • 23 Nm

3. Camshaft Timing Chain
   • Mark the running direction with paint for reinstallation
   • Removing from the camshafts. Refer to CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN, REMOVING FROM CAMSHAFTS .
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to CAMSHAFT TIMING CHAIN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
4. Chain Tensioner
   • Removing and Installing. Refer to CHAIN TENSIONER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
5. Bolt
   • 9 Nm
6. Seal
   • Replace after removing
7. Gliding Piece
   • Replace after removing
8. Control Valve
   • For the camshaft adjuster
   • Tightening Specifications and Sequence. Refer to  ) Have a second technician tension the Electronic Torque Wrench 3-60 Nm :VAS 6583 with insertion adapter Hazet 6423C or Stahlwille 7370/10 with Torque Wrench Insert - Ring Tool Attachment AF41 :VAS 261 001 and Counterholder : T90001 on the intake camshaft adjuster to 26 Nm counter-clockwise -arrow- and hold.
