Camshaft Timing Chain, Removing From Camshafts, Cylinder Bank 2 (Left): Notes
For the following procedure the camshaft timing chain remains on the engine.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Electronic Torque Wrench 3-60 Nm :VAS 6583
- Locking Pins :T03006
- Crankshaft Locking Pin :T40069 (with the engine removed)
- Wrench - 21mm :T40263
- Camshaft Lock :T40264/3
- Adapter :T40314
- Camshaft Positioning Tool :T40331 , not illustrated
- Socket E24 :T90000 , not illustrated
- Counterholder :T90001 , not illustrated
- Counterholder :T90002 , not illustrated
- Socket :VAS 261 001 , not illustrated
- Hazet 6423C or Stahlwille 7370/10 (commercially available), not illustrated
Camshaft Locking Device :T40331 , Preparing
- The lettering "B" on the Camshaft Positioning Tool :T40331/1 points forward.
- The Camshaft Positioning Tool :T40331/5 and :T40331/6 as well as the washers on the bolts :T40331/9 must be positioned using the alignment pins -arrows-.
-- Tighten the bolts hand-tight.
