Map Controlled Engine Cooling Thermostat -F265-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING: Installing
- Replace the gasket and o-ring after removal.
-- Push the seal -1- on the Thrust Piece :T40425 -arrows-.
- The open side of seal faces upward.
TIP:
If the Thrust Piece :T40425 can not be positioned flush, due to it touching the front coolant pipe, then the thrust piece must be refinished accordingly at the upper tab -arrow- using a file.
-- Install the seal with the Thrust Piece :T40425 , in order to do this, install the bolts -arrow- alternating turns of 1 /2 all the way.
- Check if Thrust Piece fits closely to the crankcase all around, if necessary squeeze it some more using light hammer strokes.
Installation continues in reverse order of removal.
