Differential, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Drain the transmission fluid. Refer to Transmission Fluid, Draining and Filling .
-- Refer to TRANSMISSION, REMOVING .
-- Remove the right flange shaft. Refer to Right Flange Shaft, Removing and Installing .
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the slowly and carefully remove the final drive cover.
-- At the same time, make sure that the differential does not fall out.
-- Carefully remove the differential -1- and lay it on a soft support.
-- While doing so, do not lift the differential at the angular contact ball bearing cage -2-, but rather grab inside the hole -arrow- for the right flange shaft.
Conditions
- If the left outer race/tapered roller bearing for the differential is being replaced, the left flange shaft must be removed beforehand. Refer to Left Flange Shaft, Removing and Installing .
