Rear Electric Drive Power And Control Electronics, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Refer to REAR MOTOR, REMOVING, BASIC , or REAR MOTOR, REMOVING, PERFORMANCE .

-- Refer to Motor, Securing to Engine and Transmission Holder, Rear Motor .

-- Drain the transmission fluid. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID, DRAINING AND FILLING (0MJ) , or TRANSMISSION FLUID, DRAINING AND FILLING (0MJD) .

-- Connect the cable from the ESD Work Surface :VAS 6613  -A- on a grounded household socket -C-.

-- Connect the cable with terminal and connect an uncoated position of the of the three-phase current drive -B-.

-- Remove the right coolant pipe. Refer to COOLANT PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, RIGHT SIDE OF THE MOTOR .

-- Disconnect the connector -1-.

-- Remove the bolts -2- and -3-.

-- Move the cable guide -4- to the side.

-- Remove the bolts -1- and bolts -arrows- for the cover -2-.

-- Slowly and evenly pry out the cover -1- on a suitable location -arrows-.

Condition

• Sealing surfaces may not be damaged.

Prepare the Anti-Rotation Protector :T10687  -A- to loosen the bolts for the busbars:

-- Loosen all bolts -B- for the retaining plates -C- one turn.

Condition

• The holding plates -C- must be movable

-- Install the anti-rotation protector -A- hand tight to the three-phase current drive, as shown, using the bolts from the cover -arrows-.

-- To loosen the bolts for the bolts, tun the retaining plate -C- on the anti-rotation protector -A- to the right and tighten all bolts -B- hand-tight.

-- Loosen the bolts -1- for the busbars through the openings in the anti-rotation protector -A-.

• Sealing surfaces may not be damaged.

Tip

The manufacturer will perform a failure analysis for the removed power electronics. It must not be damaged or contaminated during removal. Make sure the standards regarding cleanliness and electrostatic discharge protection are met.

-- Remove the protective cap -1-.

-- Position the Guide Frame :T10668/2-1  -A- as shown.

-- Install the bolts -arrows- hand-tight.

-- Turn the locking mechanism -1- and -2- and -3- on the Guide Frame :T10668/3-1  -B- in the "open" position -arrows-.

-- Turn the knurled bolt -2- all the way upward and push in the wing nuts -1- downward.

-- Place the puller -A- on the guide frame.

Condition

• Puller must completely contact the guide frame

-- Turn the locking mechanism -1-. -2- and -3- in "closed" position -arrows-.

-- Remove and bolts -arrows- and nuts -1-.

-- Use a commercially available vacuum cleaner to clean the threaded holes.

Condition

• The help of a second person is necessary for the following procedure

-- Pry out the power electronics with the puller -A- from the three-phase current drive.
