Front Backrest, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Mount the front seat onto the fixture for seat repair. Refer to Front Seat, Mounting on Fixture for Seat Repair .

-- Remove the tunnel-side seat trim panel. Refer to INNER SEAT TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the side sill side seat trim panel. Refer to OUTER SEAT TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the seat trim panel bracket. Refer to Seat Trim Panel Bracket, Removing and Installing .

Vehicles with front child seat anchor

-- Remove the front child seat anchor. Refer to FRONT CHILD SEAT ANCHOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Continuation for all vehicles

-- Release the wiring harnesses connectors from the backrest and disconnect. Refer to MODULAR WIRING ROUTING, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Free up the connectors to the backrest.

Tip

The wiring harness between the connector station and the left and right thorax airbag is continuous.

-- Remove the bolts -1- through -4-.

-- Tilt the backrest -5- forward on the seat pan.

-- Press the seat pan cushion to the side, carefully remove the wiring harness for the thorax airbag from the seat pan.

-- Remove the front backrest.
