Headlamp, Adjusting, Matrix Led Headlamp, CANADA: Procedure
Incorrect measurement at the due to very high or unsteady ambient lighting.
- Prevent too high or unsteady ambient lighting!
-- Turn on the low beams (but not set at "Auto").
-- Start the test program "Adjusting/calibrating headlamps" and follow the instructions on the display of the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester. Refer to Diagnostic Entries .
Tip
The headlamps move into the basic setting with this program.
-- During the program, it will be asked to perform a headlamp adjustment.
-- Align the Headlamp Adjusting Unit :VAS 621 001 at the distance -a- = 100 mm to the vehicle center. Refer to the Headlamp Adjusting Unit VAS 621 001 Owner's Manual.
-- Ensure that the Headlamp Adjusting Unit :VAS 621 001 is aligned parallel to the vehicle lateral axis, for this, direct the laser beam of the Headlamp Adjusting Unit :VAS 621 001 towards the front fender bolts to the left and right side -arrows- (example illustration above).
Condition
- To prevent a glare for other motorists, pay attention to the exact orientation of the headlamp adjusting unit.
-- Push the Headlamp Adjusting Unit :VAS 621 001 in front of the left headlamp and check the parallel alignment again.
Condition
- The Headlamp Adjusting Unit :VAS 621 001 must be aligned centered to the indicated segment -arrow-.
-- Press the "OEM" button -arrow- on Headlamp Adjusting Unit :VAS 621 001 in the main menu.
-- Select "Audi" -arrow-.
-- If shown on a display, press the button -arrow- for the left low beam headlamp.
-- Wait until the light measurement is complete.
-- For height adjustment of the headlamp, first adjust the cut-off line under the separating mark using the adjusting screw -2-.
-- Then adjust the cut-off line on the dividing line starting from the bottom.
-- A side adjustment is not intended for the market-specific version Canada.
-- The adjusting bolt -1- for the side adjustment is sealed on market-specific version Canada with a plug. Refer to Electronic Parts Information (ETKA).
Tip
The right headlamp layout is a mirror image.
-- After successful adjustment of the low beams press the left button -arrow-.
A reference segment is activated as the program sequence continues.
-- Position the Headlamp Adjusting Unit :VAS 621 001 centered to the headlamp reference segment.
-- If shown on display, press the button -arrow- for Matrix beam 1.0.
-- Wait until the light measurement is complete.
-- If shown on display, enter the angle value arrow of the inner reference segment edge -arrow- in the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester. While doing so, pay attention to the sign if necessary.
-- If shown on display, press the -arrow- button.
During the program sequence you will be asked to move the Headlamp Adjusting Unit :VAS 621 001 from the left to the right side.
-- Align the Headlamp Adjusting Unit :VAS 621 001 at the distance -a- = 100 mm to the vehicle center. Refer to the Headlamp Adjusting Unit VAS 621 001 Owner's Manual.
-- Ensure that the Headlamp Adjusting Unit :VAS 621 001 is aligned parallel to the vehicle lateral axis, for this, direct the laser beam of the Headlamp Adjusting Unit :VAS 621 001 towards the front fender bolts to the left and right side -arrows- (example illustration above).
-- Push the Headlamp Adjusting Unit :VAS 621 001 in front of the right headlamp and check the parallel alignment again.
-- Align the Headlamp Adjusting Unit :VAS 621 001 centered on the low beams segment.
-- If shown on a display, press the button -arrow- for the right low beam headlamp.
-- Wait until the light measurement is complete.
-- Adjust the right headlamp low beams the same way as the left headlamp.
-- After successful adjustment of the low beams press the right button -arrow-.
A reference segment is activated as the program sequence continues.
-- Position the Headlamp Adjusting Unit :VAS 621 001 centered to the headlamp reference segment.
-- If shown on display, press the button -arrow- for Matrix beam 1.0.
-- Wait until the light measurement is complete.
-- If shown on display, enter the angle value arrow of the inner reference segment edge -arrow- in the Vehicle diagnostic tester . While doing so, pay attention to the sign if necessary.
-- After the calibration is finished, read the DTC memory and process potential entries.
