Thorax Airbag Crash Sensor In The Driver/Front Passenger Side B-Pillar G1101/G1102, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Move the front seat all the way forward and up.
-- Remove the B-pillar lower trim panel. Refer to B-PILLAR LOWER TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Free up the lower C-pillar trim panel in the area of the door seal.
-- Unclip the C-pillar trim panel -1- from the B-pillar in direction of -arrow A- using the trim removal wedge no. 7 from the Scraper Set:VAS 6845 .
-- Unclip the C-pillar trim panel in the front area from the side sill in direction of -B arrows- and press to the side.
-- Free up the lower A-pillar trim panel in the area of the door seal -1-.
-- Unclip the B-pillar trim panel -2- from the B-pillar in direction of -arrow A- using the trim removal wedge.
-- Unclip the A-pillar trim panel from the side sill in direction of -B arrows- and press to the side.
Pyrotechnical components can deploy unintentionally.
Risk of injury.
- Discharge the static electricity: quickly touch the door striker.
-- Remove the nut -1- and the thorax airbag crash sensor -2- from the body.
-- Disconnect the connector -3-.
-- To do this pull out the connector lock -2-, push down in direction of -arrow-, and disconnect the connector -1- on the crash sensor.
