Engine, Supporting In Installation Position

Procedure

CAUTION:

Risk of injury due to the engine weight shifting.

The possibility for parts of the body to be pinched or crushed increases.

- Only support the engine when the transmission and tunnel crossmember are removed.

-- Remove the engine cover and heat shield. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left and right covers for the fender. Refer to OVERVIEW - FENDER .

-- Position the Engine Support Set: 10-222B on the left and right side of the longitudinal member for the upper wheel housing.

-- Engage the Engine Support Bridge - Spindle Engine Support Bridge - Spindle: 10-222A/11 at the left and right on the engine lifting eyes.

-- Tension the engine with the spindles slightly until the engine mount is not under a load.

-- If the transmission should be removed, loop the Tensioning Strap: T10038 as shown in the engine lifting eyes -1 and 2- and on the Engine Support Bridge - Engine Support 3: 10-222A/3 and tighten.

Assembling

Assemble in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- Install the heat shield and engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
