Charge Air Cooler, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Pay attention to the guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to GUIDELINES FOR CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
-- Remove the front noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
-- Remove the front bumper cover. Refer to BUMPER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- If necessary, remove the molded foam part. Refer to OVERVIEW - BUMPER CARRIER .
-- Release the retainer -arrow B- and disconnect the air duct -1- toward the right -arrow A-.
Right Charge Air Cooler:
-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Right Charge Air Cooler, Vehicles with High-Voltage System:
-- Remove the nut -B- and bolts -C-.
-- Disengage the bracket -A- with the upper heat exchanger for the heater core and slightly lower.
Lift Charge Air Cooler, Vehicles with High-Voltage System:
- The engine is cold.
-- Drain the refrigerant circuit. Refer to Refrigerant Circuit (Refrigerant R134a Servicing, Refrigerant Circuit, Working with A/C Service Station), Working with A/C Service Station or Working with A/C Service Station .
-- Remove the left upper longitudinal member. Refer to OVERVIEW - LOCK CARRIER .
-- Disconnect the connector -3-.
-- Pry up the clamp -4- and remove the coolant line.
-- Release the catches -arrows- and remove the high-voltage system cooling circuit coolant expansion tank -1- and press to the side.
-- Remove the bolt -1- and press the bracket with the coolant hose downward.
-- Remove the bolt -2- and then disconnect and press forward the refrigerant line.
Continuation for All Vehicles:
-- Loosen the clamp -2- and remove the air duct hose.
-- Loosen the hose clamp -4- and remove the lower air duct hose.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and press the mount -1- for the bumper cover to the outside slightly.
-- Remove the bolt -2-, remove the charge air cooler -3-, at the same time for vehicles with high-voltage system, pay attention to the refrigerant hose line.
