Brake Fluid Reservoir, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Remove the tower brace. Refer to TOWER BRACE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the refrigerant lines in the plenum chamber. Refer to Refrigerant Circuit .
Leaking brake fluid increases the risk of injury.
Risk of skin irritation and injury.
- Wear safety gloves.
-- Open the brake fluid reservoir.
Risk of accident due to the brakes malfunctioning.
- Brake fluid must never come into contact with fluids containing mineral oils (oil, gasoline, cleaning solutions).
- Wear safety gloves that are free of oil and grease.
-- Extract as much brake fluid from the brake fluid reservoir as possible using the Brake Filling and Bleeding Equipment: VAS6860 or Brake Charger/Bleeder Unit: VAS5234 with a suction hose.
There is a risk of contamination and paint damage from leaking brake fluid.
- Rinse off any leaking brake fluid immediately using plenty of water.
-- To prevent brake fluid from escaping, place enough lint-free cloths in the area under the brake fluid reservoir.
-- Remove the bolt -arrow- and remove the protective plate -1-.
TIP:
- The protective plate -1- is not installed in all models.
-- Disconnect the connector -2- for the Brake Fluid Level Warning Switch -F34-.
-- To prevent brake fluid from escaping, place enough lint-free cloths in the area under the brake master cylinder.
-- Remove the bolt -arrow- for the brake fluid reservoir on the side from the brake fluid reservoir and the brake master cylinder.
-- Remove the brake fluid reservoir -1- from the plugs.
