Headliner, Lowering For Roof Antenna Removal
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Pry Lever :80-200
- Removal Wedge :T40233
Procedure
-- Loosen the B-pillar upper trim panels and move to the side with the strap. Refer to B-PILLAR UPPER TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the C-pillar trim panels. Refer to C-Pillar Trim Panel, Removing and Installing .
-- Remove the roof end strip. Refer to Roof End Strip, Removing and Installing .
-- Remove the D-pillar trim panels. Refer to D-Pillar Trim Panel, Removing and Installing .
-- Remove the roof grab handle. Refer to Roof Grab Handle, Removing and Installing .
Vehicles with sliding sunroof
-- Open the sun shade.
-- To avoid getting dirt on the headliner, clean the Removal Wedge :T40233 .
-- Push the trim removal wedge between the frame -1- for the sliding sunroof and the headliner.
-- Using the trim removal wedge, loosen the headliner all the way around the frame for the sliding sunroof -arrows-.
Continuation for all vehicles
-- Free up in the headliner in the area of the inner door seals.
-- Unclip the headliner -1- with the trim -2- and bracket from the screen separator mounting eye -arrow-.
-- Repeat the procedure on the opposite side.
Conditions
- Do not kink the headliner.
-- Unclip the rear headliner in the center on the centering pin -1- from the body -arrow- using the Pry Lever :80-200 .
Conditions
- Replace the headliner if it is bent.
-- Carefully lower the back of the headliner.
-- Remove the Roof Antenna -R216-. Refer to ROOF ANTENNA, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
-- Align the headliner, press in the centering pin at the back of the headliner until it engages audibly in the body mounting point.
-- Stretch the inner door seal lip over.
-- Clip the headliner into the screen separator mounting eyes.
Vehicles with sliding sunroof
-- Clip the sides of the headliner into the sunroof frame first, and then into the front and rear.
