Cigarette Lighter U1/12 V Socket U5, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the center console insert. Refer to CENTER CONSOLE INSERT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Free up and disconnect the connector.

-- Insert the release tabs -2- of the Cigarette Lighter Release Tool :T40148  into the recesses at the Cigarette Lighter -U1- -3- -arrow-.

Conditions

• The threaded rod -1- is moved all the way downward.

-- Insert the cigarette lighter release tool -1- all the way.

-- Turn the thumbwheel -2- at the release tool clockwise all the way to the end stop.

-- The plunger -2- is pulled up and the release tabs -1- are spreading in the puller -arrows-.

-- Remove the cigarette lighter from the illumination ring using the cigarette lighter release tool.

-- Guide the wire out through the mount.
