Battery, 48V A6, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:

 

-- The small crashpad -4- and large crashpad -3- must be inserted correctly into the spare tire well.

Conditions

-- Slide the battery with protective housing all the way onto the retaining bracket -1- so that the clamping strip engages in the retaining bracket.

Conditions

-- Check the protective housing for secure fit after installation.

-- Check the pressure equalization hose to make sure it is seated correctly in the grommet -2-.

 

-- When the ignition and electrical equipment are switched off, connect the battery in the following sequence:

-- First connect the battery positive cable terminal to the battery positive terminal "+" and tighten the nut.

-- Tighten the battery terminal clamp for the ground wire on the battery negative terminal "-" and remove the nut.

-- Attach the cap until it engages audibly.

-- Connect the connector.

-- Connect the battery. Refer to BATTERY A, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING, VEHICLES WITHOUT ALTERNATIVE DRIVE SYSTEM, (0K0) , or BATTERY A, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING, VEHICLES WITH HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM, (0K3) , or BATTERY A, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING, VEHICLES WITH ALTERNATIVE DRIVE SYSTEM, (0K4)  .

 

If the 48V battery was replaced, then perform the 48V battery adaptation test plan.

-- Perform the "A6 - 48V Battery, Adapting" function using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester. Refer to Diagnostic Entries .
