Upper Coolant Pipe On Transmission, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Drain the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .

-- Remove the left front muffler. Refer to FRONT MUFFLER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and nut -2-.

-- Remove the crossbrace end plate -1-.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and push the heat shield -1- slightly to the side.

TIP:

Additional work if the catalytic converter must be removed:

-- Remove the left and right bolts -2 and 3- and the strap.

-- Remove the heat shield toward the rear and place it on the crossbrace.

-- Remove the bolt -2- and nut -3- and free up the parking lock emergency release cable -1-.

CAUTION:

There is a risk of damaging the straps on the plastic coolant pipes if they are handled incorrectly.

- Counterhold at the coolant pipe when disconnecting and connecting the coolant hose.

-- Loosen the hose clamps -1 and 2- and remove the coolant hoses.

-- Remove the double bolts -arrows- and remove the coolant pipe.
