SERVOTRONIC Solenoid Valve, Checking

-- Disconnect harness connector from Servotronic solenoid valve -N119- -.

-- Set digital multimeter (Fluke 83 or equivalent) to measure resistance, and connect between terminals on Servotronic solenoid valve.

NOTE:

For purposes of illustration, this test is shown being carried out with the steering gear removed.

Specified value: approx. 6 to 12 ohms

If not:

-- Replace Servotronic solenoid valve -N119-.



Vehicles from 07.93

-- Remove cover from auxiliary relay panel 1 in plenum.

-- Remove Servotronic control module -J236- from auxiliary relay panel 1, position 16.

-- Set digital multimeter (Fluke 83 or equivalent) to measure resistance, and connect between auxiliary relay panel sockets 2 and 5.

Specified value: approx. 6 to 12 Ω

If not:

-- Disconnect harness connector from Servotronic solenoid valve.

-- Check wiring for short or open circuit between connector at auxiliary relay panel 1 and Servotronic solenoid valve connector, according to wiring diagram.

If specified value is not obtained, and wiring connection is OK:

-- Replace Servotronic solenoid valve.
