Hydraulic Fluid Reservoir Assembly Overview

WARNING:

Power steering hydraulic system operates with power steering fluid, Part No. G 002 000.

  1. Filler cap with oil dipstick
    • Tighten forcefully by hand
    • Note MAX and MIN marks on dipstick
  2. Seal
  3. Pressure spring
  4. Spring seat
    • Install on dipstick
  5. Strainer
    • Clean with solvent
  6. Reservoir
    • If new, fill with power steering fluid
    • Capacity approx. 1.2 liters (1.2 qt)

      Checking fluid level:

      -- Let engine idle with wheels straight ahead for approx. two minutes.

      -- Stop engine (switch ignition off) and immediately check power steering fluid level, noting marks on the reservoir or dipstick.

      -- If necessary top off to MAX mark.

  7. Bolts
    • 10 Nm (7 ft lb)
  8. Bracket
    • Bolt to wheel housing
  9. Hose clamp
  10. Suction hose
  11. Return hose
  12. Hose clamp
