Engine Cover, Removing
A hot heat shield may cause burns.
Burns to the hands are possible.
- Allow the engine to cool.
-- Carefully remove the engine cover from the pins -arrows-, one after another. Do not pull on the engine cover abruptly to remove it or pull on one side.
Heat Shield, Removing
-- Remove the ball pins -arrows- and remove the heat shield -1- with the brackets.
Installing
There is a risk of fire and damage when the heat shield and/or engine cover is missing.
- Never close the hood if the heat shield and engine cover are not installed.
- Never start the engine or move the vehicle when the heat shield and/or engine cover is missing and the hood is closed.
-- To avoid damage, do not hit the engine cover with fist or a tool.
-- Position the engine cover and at the same time, pay attention to the oil filler tube and oil dipstick.
-- Press the grommets on the left side of the engine cover onto the ball pins first, and then the grommets on the right side.
