Brake Pad Wear Indicator Wire, Removing And Installing, All Brakes Excluding Six-Piston Ceramic Brake: Removing
-- Remove the affected front wheel, while observing the safety precautions for vehicles with ceramic brakes. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .
-- Disconnect the connector -1-.
-- Release the connector -2- from its bracket in direction of -arrow A- while turning it 90° at the same time in direction of -arrow B-.
Vehicles with Four-Piston Brake:
-- Remove the brake caliper. Refer to BRAKE CALIPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, FOUR-PISTON BRAKE .
-- Remove the contact -1- for the brake pad wear indicator from the brake pad, while being careful of the clips -2-.
-- Free up the brake pad wear indicator wire.
Vehicle with Six-Piston Steel Brake:
-- Free up the wire by opening the protective cap -3- and disengage the wire from the brake caliper -arrows-.
-- Remove the contact -1- for the brake pad wear indicator from the brake pad, while being careful of the clips -2-.
Vehicle with Ten-Piston Steel and Ceramic Brake:
-- Remove the contact -1- for the brake pad wear indicator from the brake pad, while being careful of the clips -2-.
-- Free up the wire by opening the protective cap -3- and disengage the wire from the brake caliper -arrows-.
