Brake Pad Wear Indicator Wire, Removing And Installing, All Brakes Excluding Six-Piston Ceramic Brake: Installing
- Check the brake pad wear indicator contact for damage and replace if necessary.
- Make sure that the brake pad wear indicator contact fits correctly in the brake pad.
- If the clips go missing, the brake pad wear indicator wire must be replaced.
Vehicles with Four-Piston Brake:
-- Insert the contact -1- for the brake pad wear indicator with the clip -2- until it engages in the brake pad.
-- Secure the brake pad wear indicator wire back into the same position.
-- Install the brake caliper. Refer to BRAKE CALIPER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, FOUR-PISTON BRAKE .
Vehicle with Six-Piston Steel Brake:
-- Insert the contact -1- for the brake pad wear indicator with the clip -2- until it engages in the brake pad.
-- Secure the brake pad wear indicator wire with the protective cap -3- and engage on the brake caliper -arrows- as shown.
Vehicle with Ten-Piston Steel and Ceramic Brake:
-- Secure the brake pad wear indicator wire with the protective cap -3- and engage on the brake caliper -arrows- as shown.
-- Insert the contact -1- for the brake pad wear indicator with the clip -2- until it engages in the brake pad.
Continuation for All Vehicles:
-- Bring the connector -5- into its installed position and turn in the direction of -arrow- until the tab -2- engages in the opening -1- on the bracket.
-- Connect the connector -4-.
-- Install the front wheel, while observing the safety precautions for vehicles with ceramic brakes. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .
