Brake Caliper, Replacing, Six-Piston Ceramic Brake: Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
-- Clip the wire bracket into the new brake caliper.
-- Install the brake pads. Refer to BRAKE PADS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, SIX-PISTON CERAMIC BRAKE .
-- Install the brake hose -3- in the brake caliper and tighten.
-- Check the spring -2- for damage and replace if necessary.
-- Insert the brake hose into the bracket -arrow- and connect it to the brake line by tightening the union bolt -1-.
- Make sure the brake hose is routed correctly.
- Make sure the brake hose is not blocked, bent, twisted or rubbing against the vehicle.
-- Remove the Brake Pedal Actuator:V.A.G 1869/2 .
- Only bleed the brake system on the wheel which the brake caliper and the brake line was separated. If the brake still feels "soft", completely bleed the brake system.
-- Install the front wheel, while observing the safety precautions for vehicles with ceramic brakes. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .
Faulty brakes increase the risk of an accident.
- Make sure the brakes are working correctly before driving the vehicle for the first time.
