Electric Drive Power And Control Electronics, Removing And Installing, AUDI A6/A7: Removing
There is a risk of fatal injury due to high voltage.
Electrocution by direct contact or electric arc can cause severe bodily injury or fatal injury.
- Have an Audi high-voltage technician (HVT) or an Audi high-voltage expert (HVE) de-energize the high-voltage system.
-- De-energize the high-voltage system. Refer to HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM, DE-ENERGIZING .
- If the control module is replaced, select the "Replace control module" function for the respective control module on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester > .
-- Disconnect the battery. Refer to BATTERY A, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING, VEHICLES WITHOUT ALTERNATIVE DRIVE SYSTEM, (0K0) , or BATTERY A, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING, VEHICLES WITH HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM, (0K3) , or BATTERY A, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING, VEHICLES WITH ALTERNATIVE DRIVE SYSTEM, (0K4) .
-- Remove the left center underbody trim panel. Refer to OVERVIEW - UNDERBODY TRIM PANELS .
-- Remove the left diagonal brace. Refer to DIAGONAL BRACES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Drain the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING, HIGH-VOLTAGE COOLING CIRCUIT .
-- Loosen the hose clamps -arrows-.
-- Remove the coolant lines -1- from the Electric Drive Power and Control Electronics -JX1- -5-.
-- Remove the nuts -4- and free up the wires.
-- Release and disconnect the connectors -2 and 3-.
-- Release the high-voltage cable -2- and remove by pressing the release buttons.
-- Remove the pressure equalization hose -3- by pressing the catches on both sides.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.
-- Remove and free up the high-voltage wiring harness for high-voltage battery -1-.
-- Position the Engine and Gearbox Jack:VAS 6931 to support the Electric Drive Power and Control Electronics -JX1-.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and loosen the clip and high-voltage cable -2-.
-- Loosen and slightly lower the Electric Drive Power and Control Electronics -JX1- -1-.
-- Remove the bolts -3- from the drive motor high-voltage wiring harness (quantity 6).
-- Remove and free up the drive motor high-voltage wiring harness -4-.
-- Seal all disconnected connectors and the high-voltage cables with suitable adapters and protect contamination and coolant from entering.
-- Remove the Electric Drive Power and Control Electronics -JX1- -1-.
