Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -G62-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Hose Clip Pliers :VAS 6362
Procedure
- The engine is cold.
-- Briefly open the coolant reservoir cap -arrow- to reduce the residual pressure in the coolant system.
-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Vehicles with version 1 air duct hose:
-- Remove the bolts -1 and 3- and remove the air duct hose -2-.
Vehicles with version 2 air duct hose:
-- Loosen the hose clamp -arrow- and remove the air duct hose.
Continuation for All Vehicles:
-- Disconnect the connector -1-.
-- Place a cloth underneath to catch any escaping coolant.
-- Remove the clip -2- and then remove the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -G62-.
- Replace the O-ring if damaged or leaking, if not available separately, then replace entire component
- Used coolant cannot be used again.
-- To prevent coolant loss, install the new coolant temperature sensor immediately.
-- Install the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Fill the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .
