Catalytic Converter, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Vehicle without particulate filter: remove the rear catalytic converter or exhaust pipe. Refer to Emissions Control System ; Rear Catalytic Converter/Exhaust Pipe, Removing and Installing.
-- Remove the driveshaft. Refer to DRIVESHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Lower the subframe. Refer to SUBFRAME, LOWERING .
-- Remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the Oxygen Sensor 1 before Catalytic Converter -GX10-. Refer to HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the connector -1- for the Oxygen Sensor 1 After Catalytic Converter -GX7- from the bracket and disconnect it.
-- Free up the wire to the heated oxygen sensor.
-- Remove the drive axle heat shield. Refer to DRIVE AXLE HEAT SHIELD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Vehicles with a particulate filter:
-- Loosen the left and right center underbody trim panel from the inside and slightly lower. Refer to OVERVIEW - UNDERBODY TRIM PANELS .
-- Remove the left and right connector -1- from the bracket and free it up.
-- Disconnect the left and right connector -2- and free up the double exhaust gas temperature sensor.
-- Disconnect the connector -1- for the Particulate Filter Differential Pressure Sensor 2 -G1038-.
-- Disconnect the connector -4- for the Particulate Filter Differential Pressure Sensor -G1037-.
All:
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and -2- and remove the heat shield -1- for the bevel box.
TIP:
If necessary, push the heat shield slightly to the side in order to remove the bolt -2- from above.
-- Loosen the screw-type clamp -3- and remove from the flange.
-- Remove the catalytic converter -2-.
