Charge Air Cooler, Removing And Installing: Removing

• Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to GUIDELINES FOR CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .

-- Remove the front bumper cover. Refer to BUMPER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Audi A3 from MY 2021

-- Remove the refrigerant lines from the condenser. Refer to REFRIGERANT LINES, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING FROM CONDENSER .

Audi Q2 from MY 2016/Q3 from MY 2019/TT from MY 2015:

-- Remove the side air guides for the radiator. Refer to OVERVIEW - LOCK CARRIER .

If the bolts or the catches for the charge air cooler are not accessible the applicable headlamp mount must be slightly raised as follows.

-- Remove the clip -2- in the direction of -arrow A-.

-- Lift the headlamp mount -1- only until the bolt or the charge air cooler catches are accessible in the direction of -arrow B-.

-- Unlock the catch in the direction of -arrow- and remove the cover -1- toward the front.

Continuation for All Vehicles:

-- Remove the radiator. Refer to RADIATOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Loosen the hose clamps -1 and 2- and remove the air duct hose.

-- Seal the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the Engine Bung Set :VAS6122  .

Radiator Mount with Catch:

-- Use diagonal pliers to cut through the radiator mount catches in the direction of -arrows- on the left and right sides, and then push the top of the radiator with the charge air cooling circuit cooler slightly toward the rear. (The radiator mount can be reused).

Radiator Mount with Threaded Connection:

-- Remove the left and right bolt -arrow- and at the same time push the radiator together with the charge air cooler slightly toward the rear.

-- Release the left and right lower air duct -1- on the charge air cooler in the direction of -arrow A- and disengage at the top upward in the direction of -arrow B-.

-- Release the left and right catches -1- in the direction of -arrow A- and disengage the condenser -3- from the charge air cooler -2-.

-- Secure the condenser to the lock carrier.

-- Remove the charge air cooler downward.
