Gear Oil, Checking Level

Test Requirement

The vehicle must be level.
Transmission fluid specification for rear final drive. Refer to the Parts Information.

Check the Oil Level

-- Place the Used Oil Collection and Extraction Unit:SMN372500 under the final drive.

-- Remove the oil filler plug -2- for the Gear Oil.

The fluid level is correct when the rear final drive is filled up the lower edge of the fluid fill hole.

-- Insert the new oil filler plug -2- and tighten.

Filling the Oil

-- Add enough oil using Charging Device For BorgWarner Coupling 2:VAS 6291A until it runs out between the charging device adapter and the transmission housing.

-- Remove the charging device and adapter if necessary a little oil left over will flow out.

The fluid level is correct when the rear final drive is filled up the lower edge of the fluid fill hole.

-- Insert the new oil filler plug -2- and tighten.
